2011 ASFA Trials in Hollister, CA with MBCA and PHFNC

The weekend of August 27 & 28, the Silken members of the InPhenite Sighthounds insisted that J drive them 11 hours to CA for the Monterey Bay Coursing Association ASFA Region 2 All-Breed Invitational on Saturday followed by the Pharaoh Hound Fanciers of CA all-breed coursing event on Sunday.

Results are not posted yet, but enjoy these excerpts from J Vookles (InPhenite Sighthounds) narrative of the events:

The days started cool & foggy, but ended up sunny & warm with just enough breeze to make you forget it was likely 85-90F (dry heat).

For Limited, on Sunday Bados won with a high score of 308, but Mocha & Dune were right on his tail with 305. Dune earned 2nd after the run off, petite Mocha got 3rd. Ella placed 4th and Jacob NBQ. Gita followed by Lily, Eden, & then Addie rounded out the day.

Bados & Mocha tied for first with Dune in 3rd place just 2 points behind. Bados eked out another win in the run off with Mocha. 4th was Ella, NBQ Lili, followed by Jacob, Addie, and Eden.

Bados, Dune, & Mocha put in some beautiful runs this weekend! What a competition! I encourage all CA Silkens to come to the PNW and try to take some of the ribbons back home. LOL Thank you again for inviting me down and being so welcoming.

Agent Gita adds a thank you to J for doing the driving and for taking a thwack to the shins for the team.

We were delighted to have J and her Silken gang down for the Region 2 Regional Invitational.
The Silken contingent then had dinner & margaritas at Jardin’s in San Juan Bautista. A perfect ending to the lure coursing Day!
