After a long search for a second breed to join her kennel, Francie Stull found none that met her qualifications. Through her magazine, The Sighthound, she found a multi-generational line of lurchers that piqued her interest.

While the lurchers were cute, they lacked the major traits and structural soundness that would be needed for a new breed. Francie began planning to cross in specimens of her top award-winning Borzois and judicious, rare outcrosses to Whippets.
