Fast DASH Program

The Fast Dash is a timed speed test, where a Silken Windhound chases a lure singly and can earn points towards titles with the International Silken Windhound Society subject to the following rules.

Rules

  1. The Silken Windhound must be 12 months or older AND be registered with the International Silken Windhound Society (ISWS).
  2. The host club or organization that is administering the timed speed tests (100-to-200-yard timed straight sprint event) must provide written documentation of the timed solo run.
  3. All Silken Windhounds will receive their miles per hour as their score for each test and may participate in up to two (2) tests per day. Miles per hour are then recorded as points towards the applicable Fast Dash title. There are no handicaps or additional points awarded beyond the actual miles per hour.
  4. Titles shall be as follows:
    • 150 points – BFAST (Beginning Fast)
    • 500 points – IFAST (Intermediate FAST)
    • 1000 points – FAST
    • Every additional 1000 points accumulated will be awarded a numerical advancement of the FAST title, for example: 2000 points will be FAST2, 3000 points will be FAST3, etc.
  5. Proof of event participation and scores along with the dog’s ISWS registration must be submitted to the ISWS Fast Dash committee. The owner of the dog is responsible for submitting this information within 7 days of the event.
    • The following information must be included:
      • Host Club
      • Date of Event
      • Event Secretary
      • Dog’s call name
      • Dog’s ISWS registered name
      • Dog’s ISWS registration number
      • Owner(s) name(s)
      • Event distance
      • Dog’s recorded time
      • Dog’s recorded speed (in miles per hour)
    • When results are submitted by an Event Secretary, be sure to also include contact information for each owner.
    • It is not permissible for recorded times to count towards two different titles. Owners certify at the time of point submission that the points are only being submitted for the purposes of the Fast DASH program and not to any other organization.
  6. Dogs achieving any of the above titles will have their accomplishments published on the ISWS Fast Dash website and receive a title certificate via email that may be printed out.
  7. Titles are to be placed as a suffix after the Silken Windhound’s registered name.
